Smoked sprats and cheese.

One of my favorite things about ordering from @rainbowtomatoesgarden is that Dan always includes little bonus treats in the shipping box.

Sometimes it’s stickers, or chopsticks, or recipe pamphlets, but if there is a way that a tin can eat better there will be a slip of paper tucked into the can tab with a tip to help you on your journey of delicious discovery.

Since @fangst.nordic sprats are a favorite, I thought I’d order some other sprats and see if I liked them as well.

These smoked sprats from Latvia were recommended to eat with a spreadable cheese, so I did just that. This can retails for $3.50, which is truly an insane price for this tin.

The fish are slightly softer than I prefer, meaning while packed nicely they fall apart a bit when you take them out of the tin. But outside of that the level of smoke is great and they are an absolute bargain. The tails are soft and completely edible.

Would recommend!
