(less than) 5 minute hot lunch.
This is the hands down, bare minimum, simplest way to get a hot meal in front of you in (less than) 5 minutes with 3 pantry staples. Follow along…
-boil a cup of water
-microwave your favorite rice packet for 2 mins. I love this Veetee brand of sticky rice and use these for my bowls daily. The rice is less mushy than the soft packets IMHO.
-put the miso packet in a bowl and add boiling water (this one had mushrooms in it so bonus ingredient).
- add rice (I use half the package and save half for tomorrows rice bowl or breakfast with fried egg and avocado).
-pop your favorite tin of smoked fish and dump in! This was a great way to enjoy @fishwife rainbow trout jerky gems as the miso softens the jerky and the delicious oils and flavors of the fish perfume the miso.
That’s literally it! Sure you can add some herbs or fancy it up but when you are looking for a midday meal that is so fast but feels like real food this is the move.
