Island Creek Littleneck Clams with Confit Garlic and Chili in Olive Oil
This is such an exciting tin for many reasons!!
This is the very first tin to come off the line at the newest cannery in the United States.
Located in the historic fishing community of New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Island Creek Cannery is the first single-origin canning facility in the country - meaning each tin is sourced domestically from a single, trusted producer or fishery.
Their cannery aims to provide a sustainable protein source while building value in the community by developing new markets for aquaculturists and fisherfolk; creating living wage jobs for locals, and spreading awareness about New England seafood’s positive impact on food systems nationwide.
We LOVE supporting local!
These clams were farm-raised on the Virginian coast by Cherrystone Aqua-Farms. They are gorgeous, plump clams swimming in olive oil infused with confit garlic and chili pepper. The chile de arbol in our can packed quite the bit of heat. They recommend spreading the clove of garlic on your toast and adding the clam.
We love clams with blue cheese, so don’t be afraid to pair these beauties with a creamy blue on toast.
