Fishwife Sardines with Hot Pepper
These meaty shiny ‘dines are absolutely delicious. You get 3-4 large sardines per tin, with a little plump hot pepper that is perfect to slice and put on top of your bite. Theres a great heat at the back of your throat but it doesn’t set your mouth on fire.
MOST excitingly, these sardines are responsibly wild caught off the coast of Cornwall at the only MSC certified sardine fishery in Europe from July to April when sardine quality is at its peak. The sardines are then hand packed in glorious Spanish olive oil, hot pepper and a touch of sea salt in Galicia, Spain.
As someone who isn’t a fan of spines in my tins, the large size of these sardines made it super easy to open up the fish and remove the spine in one piece. Or if you are way cooler than me go ahead and enjoy those spines!
