Maria Organic Sardines in Tomato Sauce
Maria Organic is a spinoff of the excellent Jose Gourmet brand, focusing on using only organic ingredients.
Something we hear at almost every market is “i gre up with my dad eating sardines in tomato sauce….do you have any I could buy him as a gift?” Well we have tried so many sardines in tomato sauce to land on these gorgeous ones! The sardines are firm, and the organic sauce has an incredible fresh tomato flavor. And they are only $9!
These meaty shiny ‘dines are absolutely delicious. You get 3-4 large sardines per tin, that are bathed in a fresh tasting sauce made of organic tomatoes and organic olive oil that is perfect to spoon on top of your bite, or dunk your bread in afterwards. (Or mix the whole tin with some rice!)
MOST excitingly, these sardines are responsibly wild caught off the coast of Portugal.
As someone who isn’t a fan of spines in my tins, the large size of these sardines made it super easy to open up the fish and remove the spine in one piece. Or if you are way cooler than me go ahead and enjoy those spines!
