Santa Catarina Tuna Filet with Azorean Pepper
Santa Catarina is heir to an old cannery tradition of the Sao Jorge Island, one of the Portugeuse islands in the Azores. All of their tuna is caught in the Azorean Sea using pole and line method (1 man, 1 rod, 1 hook, 1 fish), and all of the products they include in their tins (onions, parsely, etc) are grown on the island and harvested by hand. All of the fish are cleaned manually and the tins are packed by hand as well.
Each tin is wrapped in paper that includes a recipe for some type of seafood (use google translate and try!).
This is a true artisanal product.
When you turn the contents out onto a plate, you will reveal the beautiful Azorean peppers that line the bottom of the tin. Reminiscent of a red bell pepper, there is no spice to this pepper but a fresh veg taste.
Eat it as is with crackers or bread and butter, or squeeze some mayo on the side and add some toasted bread.
Ingredients: Tuna, Olive Oil, Azorean Red Tanned Pepper, Wine Vinegar, Salt
Net wt: 120g
