Santa Catarina Tuna Filet in Organic Olive Oil
Santa Catarina is heir to an old cannery tradition of the Sao Jorge Island, one of the Portugeuse islands in the Azores. All of their tuna is caught in the Azorean Sea using pole and line method (1 man, 1 rod, 1 hook, 1 fish), and all of the products they include in their tins (onions, parsely, etc) are grown on the island and harvested by hand. All of the fish are cleaned manually and the tins are packed by hand as well.
Each tin is wrapped in paper that includes a recipe for some type of seafood (use google translate and try!).
This is a true artisanal product.
The organic olive oil used in this tin has a nice grassy flavor that really comes through.
This is a great examle of simplicity at its best. Just well handled tuna, incredible olive oil, and salt. You can use this in any tuna preparation you normally like (tuna salad, dip) but can also enjoy it as is on crackers or bread. And don’t forget to sop up that tin oil!
Ingredients: Tuna, Organic Olive Oil, Salt
